Her story

Born Koketso Mathabathe in the vibrant township of Soshanguve, Pretoria, KMAT grew up surrounded by music and was a choir member for most of her schooling years. That admiration for choral music led her to find her true passion behind the decks.

She began her professional career in 2020 and has consistently grown since. Towards the end of 2022 she released her aptly titled debut EP, Luminus, through Felo Le Tee’s The Empire Worldwide.

A high-spirited force, KMAT’s star power continues to shine as she pushes boundaries and challenges herself artistically and sonically.

    Grew up in the township of Soshanguve surrounded by music and sang in a choir for most of her school years.

    Found her true passion behind the decks and started her professional DJ career.
